The 2021 Román Zinfandel is juicy, alluring and easy to drink without sacrificing complexity, offering tremendous quality for its modest price. Blended with 4% Petite Sirah and 4% Barbera, the nose is bursting with kaleidoscopic yellow peaches, strawberries and raspberries plus nuances of sage, aniseed and Angostura bitters. The medium-bodied palate has a finely chalky frame, fireworks of fresh acidity and generous layers of spicy fruit that call you back for another sip.

This selection is from a long-standing producer in the McDowell Valley, who also holds holdings on the North Coast. The aromas are rich dark cherry, blackberry, plum, potpourri, bittersweet chocolate, interlaced with savory herbs on the nose. The palate repeats the nose with added layers of tension, mineral, youthful fruit, and silky tannins. Aerate and Enjoy, but hold a few bottles in the cellar for development.

The 2022 Román offers up scents of ripe red cherry fruit, cedar, tobacco, dried herbs, cinnamon and mint. This aromatic, deceptively medium-bodied Zinfandel is all charm. Barbera and Petite Sirah complement the blend, but Zinfandel character is very much front and center.

The 2022 Román Zinfandel is a blend of 93% Zinfandel, 4% Barbera, 3% Petite Sirah. It has pure, layered scents of apricot, graham cracker, raspberry jam, mossy bark and spice. The palate is light-bodied, soft and juicy with a core of nuanced berry fruit and a mouthwatering, perfumed finish. This is ideal for spicy food! 2,000 cases produced.

A bright ruby color, the 2021 Zinfandel Roman is juicy and inviting with aromas of peach puree, red plum, and crushed flowers. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a more sanguine, iron-rich feel, with a supple texture, fine tannins, and a refreshing lift in the finish.
