Bodegas Mas Alta Mas Alta Rocallós 2022 750ml

The 2022 Rocallós has a darker profile than the majority of its siblings. It was produced with a blend of 70% Cariñena and 30% Garnacha from the Montsant park on red clay and limestone soils. Twenty percent of the Garnacha fermented with full clusters in concrete vats. The wine matured in barrel for 16 months—used foudres for the Garnacha and new barriques for the Cariñena. It's a little oaky, with riper flavors and abundant tannins, slightly rustic and dusty. It calls for powerful food. It's ripe at 15% alcohol, with a pH of 3.5, but it has good balance. 8,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2025.
