Critical Acclaim

RP 93 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2020 vintage Jan 5, 2023

The newest vintage of this classic Languedoc red is a solid effort. The 2020 IGP Saint Guilhem le Desert is 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, with no more than 6% of any other single grape variety present. Naturally, cassis elements lead the way, backed by black cherries and herbal notes, plus a subtle, barely noticeable layer of cedar tying everything together. It’s medium to full-bodied, streamlined and smooth in feel, with a long, silky, elegant finish. (Joe Czerwinski)

VN 93 Vinous 2022 vintage

Ripe redcurrant, black cherry, dried herb, cedar wood and leafy nuances introduce the 2022 Rouge. Freshly cut violets add a floral layer. Refined and savory, the 2022 hits the palate with good concentration and vivid inner energy. Structured and complex, this is a serious red from the Guibert family.

VN 93 Vinous 2020 vintage

The 2020 Rouge is loaded with potential. Pronounced spice-box, garrigue, cassis, crushed violets and a dash of cardamom compose the complex aromatic profile. Offering a smooth mouthfeel of polished tannins, the medium to full-bodied 2020 packs excellent flavor concentration and brings it home with a long finale. It says: watch me.

SP 91 Wine Spectator 2023 vintage

Ripe and earthy, with brambly fruit and juicy plum layered with sweet earth, mocha, balsamic and five-spice notes. The tannins are refined yet provide a solid frame. Hot, wet stone lines the finish, which shows concentration and finesse. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir, Tannat, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Malbec. Drink now through 2030. 7,000 cases made.
