Limpid ruby-red. Ripe red and blue fruits, candied flowers and a hint of garrigue on the fragrant nose. Juicy and energetic on the palate, offering gently sweet raspberry and boysenberry flavors sharpened by a snap of spicy white pepper. Supple tannins add gentle grip to a long, spicy finish that echoes the blue fruit note. Aged in a combination of concrete vats and demi-muids. (Josh Raynolds)

The 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape boasts scents of roses, raspberries and mint and follows those up on the palate with flavors of cherry, rosemary and thyme. It’s full-bodied and creamy in texture, pairing a lot of green notes with balanced red fruit and a long, silky finish.
