Critical Acclaim

VN 93 Vinous 2021 vintage

The 2020 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva San Martino Rosso is darkly floral with a woodland-inspired bouquet that blends flowery underbrush with crushed ashen stones and dried black cherries. It's round and supple with ripe red and blue fruit complicated by a tinge of pepper. Violet inner florals swirl throughout. This tapers off with a pleasantly chewy sensation, long and staining. Edgy tannins add youthful tension without slowing the 2020's momentum.

SP 93 Wine Spectator 2021 vintage December 31, 2025

Supple and graceful, this starts off slowly on the palate, but the fine mesh of crushed raspberry and chopped cherry fruit, dried rosemary, paprika, white pepper and tar quickly gains momentum and amplified expression, enmeshed with firm, fine-grained tannins and refreshing acidity. Long and fragrant on the finish. Best from 2026 through 2036. 200 cases imported.

VN 92 Vinous 2021 vintage May 2025

Mentholated herbs mix with balsamic spice and a core of dried black cherry as the 2021 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva Marina Cvetic San Martino Rosso smolders up from the glass. It opens with a burst of tart wild berry fruit and spice as silky textures and violet inner florals soothe the senses. Structured and long, the 2021 leaves the palate wrapped in youthful poise with a tinge of licorice and bitter dark chocolate.<

SP 91 Wine Spectator 2021 vintage

A firm, sculpted red, with muscular tannins enmeshed in compact layers of black currant and boysenberry fruit, plus dried thyme, smoke and dark chocolate pudding accents. Hints of anise, paprika, singed orange peel and tobacco play on the tightly meshed finish. Decant. Best from 2027 through 2035. 21,000 cases made, 2,000 cases imported.
