Inky, opaque, black color. Smells upfront of very ripe black currants, brambles/leaves/vegetation; second passes reveal as much of the green, earthy vegetation as the berries and that's what is so special about this first-rate cassis bouquet. Entry highlights the berries more than the vines/bramble aspect and that shows how skillfully produced this liqueur is since at this stage, the black currant is the motivating force, not the vines it was grown on; midpalate is the picture of perfection for cassis as it mirrors the entry but with greater depth and jammy concentration. Aftertaste is endless long, juicy, ripe, preserves-like. A classic and one of the five best cassis in the world.
