Producer Notes
McKenzie Bourbon Whiskey is a very rich, double-pot distilled bourbon. A local, heirloom variety of corn makes up 70% of the mash bill. We age in 10-gallon, new charred barrels and finish in local Chardonnay casks which gives the bourbon a round, buttery finish.
Critical Acclaim
Vibrantly fruity with strawberry and orange Creamsicle on the nose, along with clean hay, toasted oak, cinnamon, caramel, and bay leaf. Wood spices on the front palate give way to orange custard, pomegranate, caramel, and cinnamon bread notes, with a pop of chili-dusted roasted corn lashed with bitter oak on the finish.
Spice, intermingled with a subtle sweetness. Finish is creamy, warm, and a bit buttery. Aged in local Chardonnay casks.
