The 2021 Carignan Orzada from Melozal, Maule, spent two winters in steel tanks. Purple in the glass. The expressive, candied nose offers notes of sweet and sour cherry. In the mouth, it’s taut with reactive, throat tickling tannins before the juicy, long-lasting finish. This vintage is less concentrated and more lively than the 2020 version. (Joaquín Hidalgo)
