First aromatic notes are dry, mineral-like, stony, earthy then in the advanced second passes a bittersweet molasses/brown sugar fragrance takes hold and doesn't let go all the way to the final whiff, which offers a touch of flowery esters. Entry is dusty dry, elemental, slightly toasted, waxy; midpalate is deep, concentrated, multilayered, moderately oily, sturdy in its core. Finishes medium long, bittersweet. Whoever tells you that white rum can't have character should taste Owney's for a genuine revelation. Seriously savory and delicious.
