Critical Acclaim

WE 95 Wine Enthusiast 2019 vintage

The nose is savory, leathery and spicy, with rich, almost decadent aromas of ripe cherries and dark chocolate for balance. On the palate, strawberries and citrus lift the sweetness of the cherries, above a river of chocolate. Tannins are fierce, but pliant.

VN 93 Vinous 2019 vintage

The 2019 Brunello di Mortalcino is spicy, opening with blood orange zest before giving way to crushed blackberries and violet pastille. This is racy and juicy in character, with depths of ripe red and black fruits that swirl throughout, guided by brisk acidity. It finishes staining, long yet only gently tannic, with a pleasantly chewy sensation while leaving red plum hints and a bitter tinge of cedar to fade slowly.

JD 90 Jeb Dunnuck 2019 vintage

A dark red/garnet color, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino is generous with aromas of baked cherries, crushed flowers, sweet tobacco, and toasted cedar. Full-bodied, it has plush tannins, ripe fruit through the mid-palate, and a more modest acidity, with notes of mocha on the palate. It is a perfect winter weight Brunello to enjoy over the next several years.
