Critical Acclaim

JD 96 Jeb Dunnuck 2022 vintage

From the remote area of Annapolis, the 2022 Pinot Noir Goldrock Estate pours a youthful magenta hue and is a bit more reserved, but as it begins to open in the glass, it reveals notes of bright mixed berries, wild raspberries, blood orange, and dusty earth. Medium-bodied, it’s bright and mouthwatering on the palate, with a juicy feel to flesh out the midpalate and a lovely, sanguine, salty finish. It’s going to be a fantastic, savory wine to drink over the coming 10-15 years. 1600 cases were produced.

JD 95 Jeb Dunnuck 2021 vintage

The 2021 Pinot Noir Goldrock Estate is a deep, saturated ruby. Fresh aromas of wet rocks, black raspberry, and pressed flowers lift from the glass, with a touch of spice. Medium to full-bodied, it has good structure, with fresh acidity and notes of crunchy red cherry and fresh pine, as well as fine tannins. Its perfume lasts right through to its clean, lifted finish. This is a lovely wine to drink 2025-2040.

JS 95 James Suckling 2021 vintage

Beautiful purity of fruit here with dark strawberry, dark cherry and blood orange aromas and flavors that follow through to a medium to full body with firm tannins and a linear and long finish. Lovely now but will improve with a couple of years of bottle age.

SP 94 Wine Spectator 2021 vintage

Offers a vivid, precise display of mulberry puree, along with light violet, hibiscus, anise and blackberry notes. Sleek, with a slight savory ripple at the very end for contrast. Delightfully pure. Drink now through 2029. 1,494 cases made.

RP 93 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 2022 vintage

The 2022 Pinot Noir Goldrock Estate, matured in around 33% new French oak, has a deep well of aromas: pomegranate is accented by tones of charcuterie, fennel seed, allspice and Angostura bitters. The medium-bodied palate is silky and refreshing with detailed, layered flavors and a long, ethereal finish. It’s drinking beautifully straight from the bottle. 1,600 cases produced.

SP 92 Wine Spectator 2022 vintage December 16, 2024

Adheres to the frankly ripe and gently toasted style, with a core of friendly mulberry and boysenberry puree notes that glide through, with hints of anise and iris. The polished finish gives this a generous and suave feel. Drink now through 2029. 1,600 cases made.
