Critical Acclaim

WE 95 Wine Enthusiast 2021 vintage 12/31/2023

Layered and well-concentrated, this impressive wine stacks up cream, butter, toasted almonds and poached pears for a lavish palate that’s also nicely grounded in appley acidity. It will be eye-opening during cocktail hour and even better paired with fish and shellfish. (Jim Gordon)

JS 94 James Suckling 2021 vintage Monday, July 3, 2023

Cooked apple, pie crust, stone, and vanilla bean aromas with hints of flint. Full body. Crunchy fruit with sliced apple. Hints of oak. Dense in the center palate yet firm and focused. Excellent. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)

JD 94 Jeb Dunnuck 2021 vintage 7/21/2023

A medium straw/gold hue, the 2021 Chardonnay Russian River Valley offers up fresh and classic aromas of melon rind, lightly toasted baking spices, and ripe apple. The palate is expressive, with a nice balance of ripeness and saline. Softly textured, with notes of crunchy green apple, ripe tangerine, and salty earth, it’s in a great place now and will drink well over the next 5–6 years. (Audrey Frick)

JS 94 James Suckling 2022 vintage

The fruit in this is very beautiful, with sliced apples, cream and hints of stone. Full-bodied with plenty of fruit and a creamy texture that shows tension and intensity. Just the right amount of oak to highlight this. Drink or hold.

SP 94 Wine Spectator 2021 vintage January 2024

Seamless and polished, with succulent notes of apricot, peaches, mango and Meyer lemon, plus a touch of Honeycrisp apple at the core. Accents of orange blossom, cardamom and nutmeg linger on the long, expressive finish. Drink now through 2032. 5,904 cases made.

JD 93 Jeb Dunnuck 2022 vintage

Bright yellow with a green tinge, the 2022 Chardonnay Russian River Valley was raised with 30% new French oak, as were the majority of these wines from Hobbs. In the glass it opens to elegant and ripe aromas of fresh salted pineapple, honeyed citrus, and fresh flowers. Medium to full-bodied, it’s elegant and long on the palate, with a wide window for enjoyment over the next 7-8 years. 7,675 cases were produced.

SP 93 Wine Spectator 2022 vintage

Offers a stylish, sleek mix of tangerine, mango puree and peach preserves, plus a touch of grilled Meyer lemon, all mingling with fresh acidity, with a hint of peaches and cream for a lithe texture. Drink now. 7,675 cases made.
