Critical Acclaim
A fragrant nose of wild strawberries, redcurrants and red plums. Medium-bodied with crisp acidity. Juicy and fruity with a vivid finish. Solid and driven. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold.
A fruity nose with ripe raspberries and strawberries mixed with mild spices and subtle earthy notes. The palate is vivid and crunchy with medium body and a fine line of tannins. Flavorful, focused and lightly tight at the end. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
The 2023 Chianti Clássico is aromatic, juicy and forward, all qualities that make it a fine choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Crushed flowers, sweet red cherry fruit, mint, white pepper and chalk are very nicely lifted. The 2023 is an absolute delight.
A certified organic wine, the 2020 Chianti Classico (with 40,000 bottles produced) shows a darker hue compared to the 2019 vintage that I tasted at the same time. This hot vintage is also riper and sweeter with strawberry and dark raspberry. The wine’s personality is sultry and more full-bodied compared to the previous vintage. The blend is 90% Sangiovese, 5% Merlot and 5% Canaiolo.
