With ripe aromas that include cherry liqueur, dried raspberry, prune and spice, the Poggio Nardone 2019 Brunello di Montalcino shows a dry side to the bouquet, but the wine has enough textural heft and density to smooth it all out. In fact, extra fruit concentration is ultimately what sets this vintage apart.

Lifted floral notes of lilacs and rose hips, followed by a mix of red fruit and spices. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Balanced overall. Needs some more time to soften and a touch more fruit. Drink after 2027. (James Suckling)
