A tad reductive on the nose, so be sure to let this breathe. Hot stones, wild herbs, ripe plums, blackberries and vanilla on the nose. Full-bodied with fine tannins. Vibrant and complex. Atop the core of ripe dark fruit there is ground baking spice, oregano and white pepper. Very steady. Drink or hold.

Very dark in color and flavor and very concentrated, wrapping firm tannins around opulent blackberry, boysenberry and toasted oak notes. Has great structure for pairing with rich food or holding until 2028. (James Suckling)

The 2022 Syrah Baby Bear is savory in the glass as plum sauce and mocha combine with crushed rocks and dried herbs. It displays silky textures and ripe red berry fruits that ride a wave of cooling acidity, while a balsamic flourish adds complexity toward the close. Pleasantly chewy and long, the 2022 leaves a licorice twang and a hint of blood orange.

I've had this wine ever year since this the first vintage, and this is my favorite vintage so far. Baby's distilled essence of blackberry aroma joins forces with notes of dried cranberries and fresh-pulled espresso shots. The medium-bodied, balaced Syrah's flavors run from white pepper and bacon fat to more blackberries drizzled in lemon juice

Fruit and barrel intertwine on the aromas, with notes of char, roasted coffee bean, vanilla and dark fruit. The palate is creamy in feel, showing intensity and sophistication. Baking spice notes linger on the finish. Oak plays a prominent part but plays it well. (Sean P. Sullivan)

Ripe black fruits, smoked herbs, graphite, and spicy, peppery herb and floral notes emerge from the 2018 Syrah Baby Bear, a medium-bodied, elegant, incredibly pretty, balanced Syrah that can be drunk today or cellared for 8–10 years. This estate continues to play at a very high level, and this is another terrific wine.

Red and blue fruits, ground pepper, violets, and graphite notes all emerge from the 2020 Syrah Baby Bear, a nicely balanced, medium-bodied Syrah that has some detracting, chalky tannins. It's best drunk in its youth.
