From this dark amber liquid wafts a luxurious aroma of toffee, marzipan, candied fruit and sarsparilla. On the sweeter side of the spectrum, this aged rum is gorgeous and mouth-filling, with caramel and a sprinkling of ginger and cinnamon fireworks on the elongated finish.

Pretty topaz / amber color; good clarity. I get tantalizing aromas of caramelized onion, buttered almonds, salt water taffy in the opening sniffs; later inhalations detect quieter, still salty scents of oak resin, hard cheese, molasses, holiday fruitcake. Entry is ripe, fruity, delicately sweet; mid-palate stays as fruit-driven as the entry, adding a pleasing acidity that keeps it fresh and refreshing. Finishes oaky / woody / resiny and nicely sweet.
