Producer Notes
Ruby in color, the 2018 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has notes of cassis, caramel, juniper and pomegranate. Lifted and vibrant on the nose, this wine is fresh on the palate with a juicy, fruit-forward core. Its silky mouthfeel will provide drinking pleasure through 2044 given proper cellaring.
Critical Acclaim
So creamy yet concentrated, offering gorgeous red and black fruit on a silky texture backed by good, agile tannins. Raspberries, cherry cream, blueberries and creme de cassis expand on the palate and linger in the finish. It shows great generosity and fruitiness now, but has the structure to age well. Drinkable now, but best from 2030.
Laced liberally with tobacco leaf, olive and savory notes, along with a core of mulled black cherry and black currant fruit that shows juicy energy. The earth- and cedar-tinged finish gives this an old-school tilt. Drink now through 2036.
