Critical Acclaim
This wine offers classic Cabernet character that is both delicious and well structured. Flavors of Italian herbs, black plum and dark chocolate coat the mouth, carried by firm while fine-grained tannins and a persistent finish. Upright and well balanced.
Blended from two estate vineyards in the southern parts of Napa Valley, the wine is aged in about 40% new oak and shows a firm, balanced structure. Supportive, fine-grained tannins wrap around pure black cherries and dark plums that are tasty and well-concentrated. Drink or hold.
A textbook '21 Napa Cab, with ripe and vivid notes of linzer torte, violet and boysenberry racing through, backed by a graphite edge that extends the savory-tinged finish. Offers a gloss of toast, with ample fruit for balance. Drink now through 2036. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 30,000 cases made.
This is effusive and fruity, almost sweet in its ripeness and ready to drink soon. Sunny aromas of sweet cherries and strawberries lead to dark cherries and plums on the palate, backed by moderate tannins on a full body. Drink now.
There are more than 25,000 cases of the excellent 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown, a blend of fruit from the winery's Coombsville and Stags Leap District properties. Aged in 40% new oak (almost entirely French, although there is a small Hungarian component), it marries notes of cedar and dried spices with ripe cherries. It's medium to full-bodied, silky textured and open-knit, not hugely rich or concentrated, just a nice, balanced effort to drink over the next decade.
Morello cherry and boysenberry pâte de fruit notes are frankly forward and flirt with jammy, though light bramble and anise details offer enough of a matrix to hold everything together. Drink now through 2029. 25,000 cases made.
