Critical Acclaim

WE 94 Wine Enthusiast 2020 vintage 9/1/2023

A deep, brawny character in this full-bodied wine is nicely tempered by polished tannins and complex flavors. Aromas of toasted oak, blackberries and grilled sage lead to blackberry, blueberry and black olive flavors that are shaded by cocoa, espresso and sage notes. Best from 2028-2040.—Jim Gordon (James Suckling)

JS 93 James Suckling 2020 vintage Thursday, February 23, 2023

A very polished cabernet sauvignon with currants, chocolate, and hazelnut. It’s medium- to full-bodied with silky tannins and a flavorful finish. Very long. The texture and flavor stays with you for a long time. One for the cellar but fun to taste. Better after 2025.

JS 93 James Suckling 2021 vintage Saturday, July 27, 2024

A very refined and polished red with fine tannins, bright acidity and a tangy undertone. Medium-bodied, juicy and savory. Citrusy. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)

SP 92 Wine Spectator 2021 vintage November 15, 2024

There's a caressing feel to the mix of cassis and boysenberry puree flavors that are gilded with a pretty violet note. The long finish has a toasty edge and lingers prettily. This doesn't have a ton of range, but everything is in proportion and ready to go. Drink now through 2032. 70,065 cases made. (James Molesworth)

JD 91 Jeb Dunnuck 2021 vintage 1/8/2025

Coming from a great vintage, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is a terrific effort, and I suspect it will be a great value. Ripe currants, cassis, spicy oak, and chocolate notes define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a pure, layered mouthfeel, sweet yet present tannins, and a great finish. It reminds me a little of the 2016. Drink bottles over the coming decade. (Jeb Dunnuck)
