This blend of 70% Montepulciano and 30% Merlot offers heady aromas of clove, tobacco and cinnamon over rich blackberry coulis on the nose. It's coating and thick on the palate, with flavors of berry jam and baking spices, yet bright acidity and firm tannins lend ample support.

Only made in the best years, the Talamonti 2019 Abruzzo Kudos is a blend of 80% Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and 20% Merlot with an elaborate bouquet that embraces dark fruit preserves, spice and medicinal herb. The Merlot imparts dried mint and balsam herb and the grape from Abruzzo gives this wine thick density, lots of texture and soft tannins. The wood influences are strong with cinnamon and toasted nutmeg. This is a bold near-term wine that boasts an Abruzzo DOC designation for the first time. Some 13,000 bottles were made.
