Creamy cassis, dark olives and tomato leaf with hints of cedar and incense. A flattering, full-bodied red with creamy oak and fine-grained tannins on the palate, before a long finish with some vanilla and sweet spices. Drink from 2023.

The 2020 Red Blerd Gran Reserva Etiqueta Azul is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with 10% Syrah, 9% Cabernet Franc and 6% Malbec from Fundo Tarapacá in the Maipo Valley. Aged in varied-use barrels for up to 16 months, it’s an intense purple in color with a nose of cassis, black tea, spice, bay leaf and other subtle flavors. Sugary and voluminous, it delivers active, fine-grained tannins that gently tickle the gums. Balsamic flavors appear toward the end. A well-made red from a warm terroir. (Joaquín Hidalgo)
