Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-violet in color. The bouquet is complex and intense, opening with aromas of dark cherry, blackcurrant, and plum, accented by notes of fresh eucalyptus, tobacco leaf, black pepper, and subtle toasted oak vanilla. Full-bodied and structured on the palate, it exhibits a dense core of juicy dark fruits and savory dried herbs supported by bright, balancing acidity and fine-grained, grippy tannins, concluding with a long, elegant finish marked by lingering spice and graphite minerality.

Complex nose full of smoked herbs, tarragon, white pepper, paprika and a touch of tar. Full-bodied and structured, with tightly wound tannins that turn mellow and dusty. Juicy fruit at the end. Long, focused and comfortably firm. Very flavorful finish. 68% cabernet sauvignon, 12% petit verdot, 9% cabernet franc, 7% malbec and 4% merlot. Drink from 2025.
Creamy cassis, dark olives and tomato leaf with hints of cedar and incense. A flattering, full-bodied red with creamy oak and fine-grained tannins on the palate, before a long finish with some vanilla and sweet spices. Drink from 2023.
The 2022 Gran Reserva Etiqueta Azul blends 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 9% Cabernet Franc, 7% Malbec and 4% Merlot from Isla de Maipo. This aged 90% in French barrels (25% new) and 10% in foudres. Red fruit leads the nose with sour cherry, blackberry, gentle oak, spice and soft herbal notes. This is dry and enveloping, with refined grip and lively freshness that extends the finish with pure fruit. The 2022 represents a precise and well-defined expression of the vintage.
The 2020 Red Blerd Gran Reserva Etiqueta Azul is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with 10% Syrah, 9% Cabernet Franc and 6% Malbec from Fundo Tarapacá in the Maipo Valley. Aged in varied-use barrels for up to 16 months, it’s an intense purple in color with a nose of cassis, black tea, spice, bay leaf and other subtle flavors. Sugary and voluminous, it delivers active, fine-grained tannins that gently tickle the gums. Balsamic flavors appear toward the end. A well-made red from a warm terroir. (Joaquín Hidalgo)

Hints of cassis and graphite chime in around fresh acidity, driving the finish around fine, structured tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Merlot. The 2022 Gran Reserva Etiqueta Azul contrasts the Etiqueta Negra Cabernet Sauvignon bottling with a comparatively red-fruited, herbal-driven bouquet enlivened with a flashy, vibrant energy. The palate is ripe and powerful while maintaining lift and focus, concluding with a chewy yet refined tannin profile.
