Critical Acclaim

JD 95 Jeb Dunnuck 2020 vintage 11/11/2022

A showstopper, the 2020 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes plays with the top wines in the vintage, offering a brilliant array of red and blue fruits, flowers, incense, and chalky minerality. Medium to full-bodied and perfectly balanced, with fine tannins and a great, great finish, it’s going to evolve gracefully for 10–15 years. If you see a bottle, don’t miss it! (Jeb Dunnuck)

JD 94 Jeb Dunnuck 2022 vintage 10/29/2024

Another ripe, sexy, exuberant Gigondas, the 2022 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes reveals a vibrant ruby/purple hue as well as youthful aromatics of black raspberries, sandalwood, ground pepper, and herbes de Provence-like nuances. This sunny, medium to full-bodied 2022 has sweet tannins, a supple, elegant mouthfeel, and a great finish. It’s a beautiful wine in the vintage that I suspect will drink nicely over the coming decade. (Jeb Dunnuck)

SP 92 Wine Spectator 2022 vintage February 28, 2025

A big, bold, gutsy version, with spiced plum and macerated cherry notes tightly sewn up by somewhat muscular tannins. Smoke, tar and anise play out on the full finish. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2034. 525 cases made, 75 cases imported. (Kristen Bieler)

JS 92 James Suckling 2022 vintage Tuesday, October 15, 2024

A focused, well-driven and flavorful Gigondas, showing notes of dark cherries, cassis, peppercorns and dried herbs. Medium- to full-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Lively and structured with generous fruit and a spicy finish with length. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)
