Bright straw-yellow in color. Intense and fragrant on the nose, releasing scents of white acacia flowers, jasmine, citrus peel, ripe pear, and hints of sage and thyme. Driven by a bright beam of natural acidity that carries into a clean, chalky, and mouthwatering mineral finish.
Producer Notes
Tenuta Mattei is a family-owned estate located in Corinaldo, within the province of Ancona in Italy's Marche region. Under Danilo Mattei, the historic family property transitioned to organic viticulture. Situated in the sinuous hills of the Esino valley between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea, the vineyards sit on clay-rich, marine-alluvial soils. Vinified entirely in stainless steel with four months of fine lees aging, this 100% Pecorino captures the native variety's vibrant acidity, floral aromas, and chalky mineral drive.
