Critical Acclaim
The 2021 Al Passo is a very beautiful and expressive wine. Dried cherry, tobacco, cedar, licorice and incense lend notable aromatic nuance. This Sangiovese/Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon blend has a ton to offer. Bright acids pull it all together in style. < (Antonio Galloni)
The 2022 Al Passo, the estate's Sangiovese-based blend, is once again terrific. Bold, pliant and generous, the 2022 is impeccably done. Ripe plum, cedar, tobacco, dried herbs and crushed flowers take shape in a wine that marries the richness of the year with a good bit of energy. All the elements are so well balanced.

Sour cherry, raspberry, almond, sanguine, iron and menthol flavors are the heart of this resonant red, which is beautifully balanced and supple, extending on the vibrant, fruit- and savory-tinged aftertaste. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2032. 13,500 cases made, 7,000 cases imported.
An easy-drinking blend of equal parts Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the Tolaini 2022 Al Passo is a plump and softly textured red wine that would taste great next to a classic burger and fries. This medium- to full-bodied red is very bright and primary, but it also shows good balance and freshness, which make it perfect for food. Production is an ample 160,000 bottles.
Cassis, meat, leather and earth notes. Firm acidity and tannins with a chalky texture, a full body and supple fruit balancing the structure. Austere on the finish. Best after two to three years of aging.

An intense red, evoking cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, mineral, tobacco and wild herb flavors. Silky and sappy, with fine-grained tannins lingering on the finish. Overall, this shows finesse. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2032. 11,000 cases made, 7,000 cases imported.
