Tenuta di Trinoro Trinoro Le Cupole 2022 750ml

A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, the Tenuta di Trinoro 2022 Le Cupole remains one of Italy's greatest value buys, especially for fans of concentrated, sun-drenched Tuscan reds. The fruit is ripe, but not overripe, and there are thick layers of blackcurrant and Morello cherry at the core. These are framed by toasted spice and cinnamon. The wine is medium to full-bodied, although the ample fruit weight gives this vintage a bigger overall mouthfeel. (Monica Larner)

The 2021 Le Cupole (a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot) is the well-priced entry-level red from one of the most prolific and creative wine estates in Tuscany. Le Cupole is velvety and full-bodied with dark fruit, dried cherry and sweet earth or terracotta. This is an incredible value. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, and the wine is matured in neutral barrique and cement. Some 100,000 bottles were released.

A round, fleshy red introduced by a blast of pure blackberry and black cherry fruit. Gains depth from mineral, earth and spice notes, with a base of refined tannins adding support. Long and balanced.
