What a wonderful wine. Aromas of black and green olives, chocolate and hazelnuts. Medium-bodied with creamy tannins and a caressing finish. It’s so seductive and beautiful. A joy to drink. Made in terra cotta amphorae with skins and some whole clusters for four months and then aged four or five months in seasoned barrels. Terrific wine that emphasizes character and drinkablity. The Tua Rita 2023 Keir Rosso is made from Syrah with 20% whole clusters, a choice driven by a desire to use mature stems and healthy clusters. The wine shows ripe, dark fruit flavors with pronounced spice, offering plush concentration and a touch of sweetness that reflects the warmth of the vintage. Fermentation and élevage include the use of orcio, a more oxidative vessel made with Tuscan red clay, which contributes to the wine’s open and expressive profile. Broad and sun-kissed in character, this is a powerful, slightly weighty Syrah with an assertive Mediterranean identity.
