Ungrafted Ungrafted Cinsault 2024 750ml

The 2022 Cinsault Old Vines Ungrafted hails from the Itata Valley. Garnet with a purple sheen in the glass. The nose delivers watermelon and pomegranate, with a faint hint of blood. It has very nice fruity intensity. The delicate texture is flavorful with a broad and medium-fresh mouthfeel. A balanced and silky red wine, but not refreshing. A serious red, in any case, with a long finish.

The 2024 Cinsault Ungrafted from Guarilihue Valley, Itata, was sourced 70% from slopes and 30% from valley floor soils. Purple-garnet in hue, it shows elderberry, soft watermelon and a light vinous note. This is curious in character. On the palate, it's smooth with a soft, chalky texture and delicate flavor. With 13.5% alcohol, this sits somewhere between a glou-glou style and a wine with structure.
