Producer Notes
Alcyone became the goddess of calm and tranquility. Like our Tannat Dessert wine, it to instills a calmness with its polished tannins, radiant yet amber purple hue and its honey like texture. Touched with a bouquet of winter flowers, Madagascan vanilla bean and wild apple mint indulged with a warmth and savor of white cacao souffle. As the story ends with tranquility, so does the longsome finish of our wine. Alcyone is a dessert wine fortified with brandy and infused with differents native roots and herbs during the aging process.
Critical Acclaim
Tannat has a reputation for making heavy, tannic and very dry red wines, but the Vientos Alcyone turns that stereotype upside down with this hedonistic Tannat dessert wine. Luscious chocolate flavors dominate on the palate, and the bold black currant notes unfold as the wine rolls across your tongue. This wine is a dessert in itself, although it tastes amazing with Black Forest cake.
