Critical Acclaim
Sports tasty flavors of cassis, plum reduction and boysenberry preserves that stay focused and fresh, lined with anise, apple wood and bramble along the way. A bit toasty on the finish, but there's enough fruit to handle it; just let this unwind with some light cellaring. Best from 2024 through 2033. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 5,444 cases made. Dark-fruited and chocolaty character here with sweet spice and bark undertones. Full-bodied with firm tannins and polished texture. Attractive bitter sweet citrus peel character at the end. A little chewy in the finish. Attractive now, but better after 2025.
Aromas of cassis, plum and wet gravel. Full-bodied with silky, fine tannins. Vibrant and succulent red and purple berries on the palate with sweet spices and herbs. Long finish. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)
