Upfront, the aroma is crisply acidic and therefore very fresh, with side notes of cigar box, caramel corn, toasted cereal grains, oak resin, raisins; secondary inhalations following more time in the glass find appealing nuances of dried cherry, prune, brown butter, caramelized onion. Entry is lean, almost austere in it's narrow grain focus, and dry on the tongue; midpalate expands the taste landscape by adding praline, candied walnut, roasted almonds, pecan pie. Aftertaste is tightly wound, desert dry, toasted to almost char-level, maple-like and completely intriguing. A whiskey distiller to watch.
