Critical Acclaim

JS 95 James Suckling 2018 vintage

Dense garnet, with a nose of walnut husks, toasted black pepper, sour cherries and ash. Smooth and soft on the palate, with a full body and ripe, silky tannins balanced by zesty acidity. Lovely fruit with an extremely long, nutty aftertaste. Very attractive. Drink now.

WE 93 Wine Enthusiast 2018 vintage

Dark cocoa powder and rich chocolate interweave with concentrated black fruits, framed by a complex spice tapestry - from sweet baking notes to savory undertones. The structure shows polished, refined tannins, while unexpected brightness emerges on the finish, offering a refreshing lift that balances the wine's depth and intensity. Drink Now - 2040

SP 93 Wine Spectator 2018 vintage July 2024

Flavors of baked black cherry, macerated strawberry, singed orange peel and medicinal herbs are focused and expressive in this rich red, reined in nicely by sculpted, fine-grained tannins and fresh plum skin acidity. Long and fragrant, with notes of dried flowers, spices, cocoa powder and more dried herbs playing on the finish. Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina. Drink now through 2034. 1,500 cases made, 100 cases imported.

VN 92 Vinous 2018 vintage

The 2018 Amarone della Valpolicella Clássico Riserva Sergio Zenato takes the finesse and airy lift of the vintage and marries it with the opulence of the Zenato style. Sweet spices, incense, sugar-dusted cherries, cloves and mint form a seductive bouquet. It's surprisingly feminine and juicy in character, with a core of tart wild berry fruits complicated by hints of cedar and rosy inner florals that form toward the close. The 2018 finishes spicy and long, with only the slightest tug of fine tannins and a pleasantly tart sensation that puckers the cheeks. <br/>
